So, we use digital packing lists too. My husband and older kids love pack point. My youngest son isn't that into his phone, which I LOVE!!!! This list works so good for him! I just go through and put a number next to the item (ex: 4 shirts) and cross off what he won't need (like a coat at the beach, ya know?) and he is totally self-sufficient in packing and has been for many years.
I have him use this list, he lays everything out in piles on the couch, and after I have done a check to approve his selections (no 4 wheeling worn out jeans to wear to dinner with Grandma) he is good to go and packs everything in his suitcase. It has saved me so much time and stress and has helped him take responsibility along the way!
